Buchanan's Birthplace State Park This small park of 18.5 acres is the birthplace of 15th President of the United States, James Buchanan. Besides visiting the stone pyramid monument located on the site of the cabin that he was born, there is not much else at this park.
Caledonia State Park The park consists of 1,125 acres on the northern most point of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Activities include hiking, picnicking, swimming, fishing, hunting, golf, and camping.
Codorus State Park
The park consists of 3,452 acres of rolling hills including the 1,275 acre Lake Marburg. Popular activities include sailing, fishing, picnicking, swimming, camping, trail biking, horseback riding, scuba diving, and hunting.
Colonel Denning State Park
The park consists of 273 acres of woodland and a 3.5 acre lake. Activities include hiking, picnicking, swimming, fishing, hunting, and camping.
Cowans Gap State Park The park consists of 1,085 ares surrounded by a state forest, including 42 acre Cowans Gap Lake. Activities include hiking, picnicking, swimming, boating, fishing, hunting, and camping.
Fowlers Hollow State Park
The park consists of 104 acres on the edge of Tuscarora State Forest. Activities include hiking, trail biking, horseback riding, picnicking, fishing, hunting, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and camping.
Gifford Pinchot State Park The park consists of 2,338 acres old farm fields and wooded hillsides, including the 340 acre Pinchot Lake. Activities include trails, biking, picnicking, swimming, boating, fishing, hunting, cross country skiing, and camping.
Little Buffalo State Park The park consists of historic buildings, a lake, and areas for picnics, hiking and hunting. Other activities include swimming and camping.
Memorial Lake State Park
The park consists of 230 acres inlcuding the 85 acre Memorial Lake. Activities include hiking, picnicking, boating, and fishing.
Pine Grove Furnace State Park The park consists of 696 acres including two lakes, 25 acre Laurel Lake and 1.7 acre Fuller Lake. Activities include hiking, biking, picnicking, swimming, boating, fishing, hunting, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, youth hostel, and camping.
Samuel S. Lewis State Park
The park consists of 85 acres overlooking the Susquehanna River Valley. Activities include hiking and picnicking.
Susquehannock State Park The park consists of 224 acres overlooking the Susquehanna River. Activities include hiking, horseback riding, and picnicking.
Swatara State Park
The park consists of 3,530 acres of rolling fields and woodlands. The focal point of the park is the Swatara Creek. The park does not have a recreation are, but is a good place for hiking, biking, boating, fishing, and hunting. The Appalachian Trail runs through the southern part of the park.
